From holger.friedrich at isc.fraunhofer.de Sun Jan 17 19:47:13 2021 From: holger.friedrich at isc.fraunhofer.de (Friedrich, Holger) Date: Sun, 17 Jan 2021 17:47:13 +0000 Subject: [Cod-bugs] Searching in COD Message-ID: Dear Sirs, We are working on a project in which we would need a list of possible known and described (e.g. in COD) crystalline phases. The system is inorganic and oxidic and could contain different up, to 5 cations. Now I was wondering about the best way to search for available phases e.g. for an oxidic system that contains besides oxygen Zn Al Si K Ca Hereby all possible combinations of oxidic structures containing 2 cations, 3 cations... 5 cations should be provided. Other anions or cations should be excluded is possible. I had hoped that by using 1 to 8 elements with the oxygen and the given cations would give me the result if I specify the number of distinct elements min and max at 2 and 6 respectively. But that did not work out. Maybe I just made a mistake. The O and K was typed with a space before the element and also after it. If you could give me a suggestion how to proceed and search I would be very grateful. If this cannot be done, I would like to provide it as a suggestion. Of course one could probably just fix Zn and O and allow up to 6 ions and in a consecutive step one could work on the extracted list using a script but that seems not very straight forward and might lead to a lot of mistakes. In case of any questions please let me know.
