Hello,
I’m having trouble logging into the Team in MS teams (and the channels in it) – and am getting the following error:

Request Id: e102bbdf-5249-45fb-a020-6e68ddd81000
Correlation Id: 413230a5-37fa-4591-96e3-6138f8d4676f
Timestamp: 2025-09-15T20:15:25Z
Message: AADSTS50020: User account 'ad2f12 at soton.ac.uk' from identity provider 'https://sts.windows.net/4a5378f9-29f4-4d3e-be89-669d03ada9d8/' does not exist in tenant 'Vilnius University' and cannot access the application '1fec8e78-bce4-4aaf-ab1b-5451cc387264'(Microsoft Teams) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

I’m wondering if it’s because I use the alias ad2f12 at soton.ac.uk<mailto:ad2f12 at soton.ac.uk> when I login to Teams and whether you need to give me permission with that email address somewhere? I’m not getting to the point where it asks me for an access code…

Thanks,
Aileen

Message from organisers :

Dear participants,

our OPTIMADE 2025 workshop in Vilnius will be held in hybrid format. On-line participants are invited to join the event on the MS Teams platform (Vilnius University subscription).

I have created the following channels for remote participation:

  * The OPTIMADE 2025 "team" in the MS Teams, URL:
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/team/19%3AYxpqLtLAXV3_EPxb953rvLZulhCFnN1nVosZNXaxmZc1%40thread.tacv2/conversations?groupId=a43ee37c-af8f-4400-bcf8-4aa0fe8a9f2a&tenantId=82c51a82-548d-43ca-bcf9-bf4b7eb1d012
  * The "Meetings" channel within that team, URL:
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/channel/19%3AjDm9y5_prMrXCxh3MdeXxwTE1shTcJmW2Nsr2i0LbkI1%40thread.tacv2/Meetings?groupId=a43ee37c-af8f-4400-bcf8-4aa0fe8a9f2a&tenantId=82c51a82-548d-43ca-bcf9-bf4b7eb1d012&ngc=true&allowXTenantAccess=true
  * The "Talks and discussions" meeting is scheduled for the duration of the workshop; the meeting URL is:
https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/3111531315037?p=zmaV72Wxt1WOF4u1nB

Connecting to "Talks and discussions" should be possible with just using a Web browser (Firefox, Chromium, Opera, etc.), but to do so, the meeting needs to be started. We (organisers) will start the meating about 10 mins before the discussion time noted in the Program.

Connecting to the team and the channel will most probably require MS Teams login and, for the external users, an access code; the access code is:

he6oj31

The remote users should be able to use video conferencing and chats for the MS Teams during the workshop. We also ask the on-site users to connect to the same MS Teams channel when presenting, so that we can share your slides without physically reconnecting coputers and your slides are visible to the on-line participants.

Please e-mail the organisers at grazulis at ibt.lt<mailto:grazulis at ibt.lt>, cod-bugs at ibt.lt<mailto:cod-bugs at ibt.lt> if there are any problems, or send an SMS text message to +370-684-49802 (S. Gražulis); please do not forget to include your name under which you registered for the workshop into your messsages :)

See you soon, both in person and on-line!

Sincerely,
Saulius
