Dear Repository Administrator of Crystallography Open Database,

We’re reaching out to share an initiative designed specifically with
repository leaders in mind: the Repository Crisis Scorecards (RCS)—a
community-driven effort, supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, to
understand and strengthen the resilience of research data repositories.

Across the scientific community, repositories face real and growing risks:
funding changes, cyber disruptions, natural disasters, hardware failures,
and personnel transitions. When disruptions occur, it’s not just data
access that’s affected—research, innovation, and community preparedness are
all impacted. The RCS was created to help repositories assess and prepare
for these challenges. Whether your repository is well-established or newly
formed, your experience and perspective are vital to this work.

You can learn more about the project on our website
<https://esipfed.org/rcs>.

We invite you to engage in two key ways:

   1.

   Complete the Project Interest Form

The interest form allows you to share exactly how you’d like to engage with
the project. By joining the mailing list you would also receive project
updates and be the first to receive the final reports and recommendations.

   2.

Complete the RCS & Request Your Stipend

The RCS (anonymous) takes about 20–30 minutes and helps repositories assess
resilience across four real-world disruption scenarios. After completing
it, you can request a stipend through a short feedback form.

Thank you for your stewardship of critical research data and for
considering this invitation. We hope you’ll join us in this work. If you’d
like to explore the project in more detail, please use this link to
schedule a conversation with our project lead:

Warm regards,

The RCS Project Team
